My Beautiful Nieces!!

Let me introduce to you, my Beautiful Nieces: Alexa Marie and Kailan Rayne Schnetzler! These beauties are my sister's daughters. And, Yes, I am a proud Aunt. And I have willingly and joyfully accepted the title as "Aunt Kha Kha". Some of you may say "Ewww, why would you let your nieces call you that?" But, once they know the story, it becomes vividly clear. When Alexa was just learning to speak, I would say to her "Say Aunt Kima" and it came out "Aunt Kha Kha". Of course at first I thought....."Lovely!!" But, the more she said it with her sweet childlike innocence....it melted my heart. And so now, I am proud to be called "Aunt Kha Kha".

Alexa Marie just turned 15. I can hardly believe it! Jake and Jakab still picture in their heads that she is a mere 8 or 9 years old... ha ha... and I keep telling them, "Just because you don't want to believe it, doesn't make it not true!" lol I was there the day that Alexa Marie came into the world. What a wonderful thing to experience!! She was beautiful. A head full of dark hair and full puffy cheeks!! :) Alexa will be a sophomore in high school this fall.

I wasn't lucky enough to be there when Kailan Rayne was born, but that doesn't diminish my love and adoration for her. She was just as beautiful as her sister. She even had the puffy cheeks! :) And it only fitting that Kailan follow in her big sisters' shoes of calling me "Aunt Kha Kha". Kailan turned 6 in April and will be in the first grade this fall.

These two sisters, who undoubtedly look like total opposites are true siblings. One favoring her father and the other favoring her mother. To look at them side by side, you would swear that they weren't full blooded sisters....until you meet them and realize the mannerisms are the very same.

They live in South Carolina and therefore I don't get to see them as often as I would like, but through facebook and phone calls, it helps melt away the miles between us. I love you Alexa Marie and Kailan Rayne, my Beautiful Nieces!! And so, this blog is dedicated to the both of you - Ms Thang Queen of Everything and My Monkey Girl!!
