Well, I can't believe the year is coming to an end!!! What a crazy year we had!! Lots of ups and downs this year!!
I love reading what everyone has been up to...and yes, even their ups and downs. Makes me realize that everyone has tough times as well.
To start off the new year, I started on my second year of not working outside the home. Sure, it makes for a tight financial situation, but I truly love being able to be at home!! I should have been born earlier ... I always wanted to be a stay at home mom and have dinner on the table for my husband when he came home from work. Much more simpler times. I am still working on my graphics, which I love. Maybe one day, someone will take notice and offer me a job to stay at home and make them!! :) Jake also celebrated his third year of being a certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Something he truly enjoys doing. He is also working on more certifications in hopes of better job opportunities.
The new year brought on many different things going on. Jakab, my handsome son was finishing up his Senior Year of High School. WOW...where DOES the time go??? Seems like yesterday I was taking him to his kindergarten class for the first time. Now, we were preparing for his Senior Prom and Graduation!!
March brought us the death of two of my Uncles. They were my mom's brothers. 2 days apart. How sad!! Uncle Rick and Uncle Danny...you will be truly missed. You both played a big part of my growing up and I am truly blessed to have known you and had you in my life!!! April brought on yet another death...My grandmother and the mother of my two Uncles. Grandma, you were always such a sweet caring and giving woman!! Loved by everyone who knew her. I pray that there was such a party in heaven when you arrived. You are now together with Grandpa, Margaret, Rick, Danny and my mom!!!! Wow!! Can you imagine the reunion up there??!!??
We also learned that Jakab had been accepted into the University of Illinois!! We of course had to go celebrate at Red Lobster!! And then of course, Jakab's High School Graduation!! A celebration of a chapter ending and of one beginning as well. I did very well, until he walked across that stage to receive his diploma! I was then a mess!! :)
With all of that going on, and getting to see relatives that I hadn't seen in years....I vowed to plan a family reunion for the summer of 2010. It really bothered me that the only time we got to see family members that lived out of state was at funerals or visitations. We needed something more uplifting and positive!! So, that's where the idea came from. I've got alot of planning ahead of me!! But, I am up for the challenge!!
August brought us to the start of the new school year. We took my baby boy ( in my eyes) to College. Talk about an emotional day!!! But, I can say with confidence that he has taken to College Life like a fish takes to water!!! I am so proud of him, I can't express it!! He is truly loving the college/dorm life and he just received his first report card...all A's and B's!!! I know that he will continue to make great strides and be successful. Every mothers dream for their child!!!
And then, thanksgiving and christmas time came and went just as quickly. Overall, the year hasn't been too too bad. We have had worse. But, I am optimistic in the coming year, that it will be the best yet!!
I hope you all a wonderful, prosperous and healthy New Year!!!
Goodbye 2009....Here's To A New and Better 2010!!!!
Thanks for letting me ramble!!
